Children's Mental Health Therapist
Permanent, Full time

Come join the dynamic team at Intersect Youth and Family Services. We are actively recruiting a permanent, full time Mental Health Therapist to primarily work with children ages 0-12 years. As the successful applicant of this position, you will provide a variety of intake, counselling, and group counselling services to support children and their families in Prince George. We are looking for the right candidate for this position, therefore start date is negotiable.

You must meet all qualifications listed below to be considered.

  • Masters level degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Med, Counselling or other human/social science degree is required for this position.
  • Clinical counselling experience working with children and their families; clinical knowledge of children's development, mental health challenges and interventions,
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships; and to work with other members of the child's support team.
  • Successful completion of criminal record check including working with vulnerable populations
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and acceptable drivers abstract.
  • Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00; to support the delivery of groups, occasional pre-scheduled evening and weekend work will be required
  • Starting wage is $32.10-40.68 dependent on experience
  • Full benefits package after completing a 3-month probationary period includes: an annual personal training budget, Employee Assistance Program, employer match RRSP contributions, extended health and dental, LTD.
  • Relocation allowance is available.

Sexual Abuse Intervention Program (SAIP) Therapist

We are actively recruiting a permanent, full time SAIP Therapist to primarily work with children ages 0-12 years from the Prince George area. As the successful applicant of this position, you will provide treatment and support services to children who have experienced sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and/or who exhibit sexually intrusive behaviors. We are looking for the right candidate for this position, therefore start date is negotiable.

  • Masters level degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Med, Counselling or other human/social science degree is required for this position.
